I recently saw an article talking about heavy metals in cacao powder. Is this something serious or in quantities large enough to warrant not consuming cacao powder? Thanks!
The metals are heavily concentrated in the shells, which is why any chocolate is supposed to have less than 1% shells present. Most chocolates do contain significant amounts of lead anyways. I believe Ghirardelli had the best test results for a good while. But, one single test by no means reflects the truth about large amounts of product.
