I really like Healthi which is a knockoff WW app, but they have a straight calorie counting plan. Their database is large and they have a scanner. Also, Cronometer is amazing and I like it for tracking macros.

I use the Lose It! app. It’s not free, but it has a lot of the same features as other paid apps (extensive database with foods, barcode, scanner, syncing with other apps, etc.), but isn’t nearly as expensive, and if you download it and look at the paid option, but don’t go paid, they may email you a code for 50% off (at least that’s what happened to me.)
