Answer

If you are eating high protein low calorie meals you will probably feel full longer and that may allow you to achieve a caloric deficit more easily. The total volume of protein is more of a concern if you are training for strength or hypertrophy.

Answer

Yes. I’ve posted this in a couple threads already. Unless you are a strength athlete you don’t need as much protein as you’re indicating. For most people, .8g/kg of body weight are plenty. Even if you are physically active you don’t need 1g/pound. I typically get around 1 - 1.2 grams per kg, and I’ve lost 65 pounds, work out intensely every day, and am building muscle. If you shoot for as much as you’re saying you are going to struggle with getting to that level of intake.
