With IF, do you just skip a meal, or do you eat say your full calorie amount in your eating period?

IF is when you fast for a set period of time and eat within a period of time. If you’re trying to lose weight usually you’ll eat at a caloric deficit if you are trying to maintain than you eat your maintenance calories.
So let’s say your caloric deficit is a total of 1500 calories and your maintenance is 2000 calories. If you’re trying to lose weight you would eat the 1500 calories or less in your eating period.
