Can drinking one pack of pedia-lyte per day be enough to replenish electrolytes?

I am new to fasting and recently discovered that I have some packets of Pedialyte powder that are still good. During an extended fast (longer than 24 hours) is consuming one packet in a glass of water (per day or two?) enough to maintain a good level of electrolytes? Is drinking this packet dissolved in plain water enough for the electrolytes to be absorbed? Quantities per Packet g (mmol) * Citrate 1.15 (6.1) * Sodium 244 (10.6) * Chloride 294 (8.3) * Potassium 184 (4.7) * Dextrose 5.7 Medicinal Ingredients * Dextrose * citric acid * potassium citrate * sodium chloride * sodium citrate Non-Medicinal Ingredients * Malic acid * natural and artificial fruit punch flavors * sucralose * acesulfame-potassium * FD&C Red N 40

Answer

Sodium, Magnesium, Potassium should be all you need, maybe Calcium but if you consume any dairy when you do eat, that should be enough. For sure you don’t Dextrose or Sucralose which is Sugar and Splenda. Malic Acid wouldn’t hurt but is not essential. The rest of the junk, no. That pack of electrolytes is not for fasting, it is for athletes, that sort of thing.

Something like this is better.
