In August Dunning’s book about dry fasting, The Phoenix Protocol, he mentions that Dr. Shchennikov, another doctor who is an expert in dry fasting, has resolved “manic depression” (not saying this is you but that’s what’s listed) among many other conditions of course. He also said that under Schennikov’s dry fasting protocol that 11 days would give complete and optimal results. However, I think that may be way too much for me personally (at least for now). It’s up to you how long you want to fast for, but Dunning’s own protocol only goes up to 7 days. Dry fasting will definitely improve your gut health, thereby helping the gut-brain axis which should in turn help with emotions. I’d also recommend taking a probiotic and/or eating fermented vegetables, and supplementing magnesium glycinate if you aren’t already. Those could potentially help you in addition to dry fasting. You’ve probably already been told this a million times, but things will get better. Good luck!

I have noted that I am much more emotionally stable during a fast. I have done hard, soft, and water fasts without noting too much of a difference between them.

Please note that I have no medical qualifications and these are just my self observations (which I hope are objective but I can never be sure)
