Can fasting burn stubborn fat on the hips?

Hi all, I’ve been fat at some points in my childhood which made excess fat and skin on hands and hips. I’m pretty skinny now, 200lbs at 6’6 but I still have good amounts of fat on the hips. I don’t want to lose any more weight since it’s the optimal for me as well, I actually want to bulk (which Im doing slowly)

if I’ll start fasting once a week for 24 hours, will it be beneficial for me? Or 16/8 is better for that? I’m not sure which method would be best for me

Thanks!

Answer

Which areas you lose fat easily and which areas are more stubborn is genetic. Nothing will change that. There is no such thing as spot reducing fat.

There is some evidence that fasting can help reduce loose skin slightly faster than otherwise. For this you want prolonged fasting, not intermittent. Between 24-72 hours with regular intervals.

If you really don’t want to lose more fat overall, but want some local fat gone, your only option is really liposuction. However, a lot can be done to change the overall body shape and appearance by building muscle.
