Answer

First off, congratulations!!!

Second, while my first instinct is to say, “don’t do IF while pregnant”, honestly I’d have to say that this really isn’t a ‘random reddit stranger’ type of question.

If I were you, I’d ask your obstetrician; as opposed to relying on advice you get here….

Answer

No. Eat a healthy balanced diet and eat when you feel hungry.. yes you may gain a bit of extra weight but your growing a baby and better to have a bit extra than not enough.

Some people may try and argue but the possible risks definitely out-way the benefits of fasting (while pregnant). You want to get your baby the most amount of nutrients as you can and despite what some people might say spacing your food intake out throughout the day will be far more beneficial for the baby.

Worry about the little extra weight after!

Answer

No because the body will funnel whatever nutrients the baby needs and will take it from your bones, your teeth, etc. You can follow a lower carb diet while pregnant but better not to go any lower than 75 grams of carbs. Definitely take your prenatal supplements and you can exercise while pregnant, including lifting weights but be careful as your balance will be off the larger the baby gets. Congratulations!

Answer

i wouldnt its not healthy for baby.but in third trimester you only need an extra 400 calories. so just spread those calories out to keep your body fueled so you dont pass out.T1 youre tired. T2 you feel amazing. t2 you bulk

Answer

I lost 3 kids’ worth of baby weight with IF. That said I can’t imagine any kind of time-based restriction while pregnant. Particularly during the first trimester, constant grazing was the only way to manage the nausea. Plus, you’re not doing the baby any favors by denying the hunger. Eating WELL is the imperative but please don’t restrict. You’ll do damage control once baby’s born and nursing is well established :) (or after weaning like I did).

Congratulations!!

Answer

This is something I think you should talk to your doctor/s about. Obviously you don’t want to be a in deficit but IF 6/18 isn’t that different from 12/12. Trust you body and eat when hungry I’d say but I think you can extend your fasting period longer that 10 hours. Make sure you eat healthy and try not to over eat particularly on your cravings if they happen to be unhealthy.
