It isn’t something that would be recommended in a clinical setting and goes against the advice of practitioners like Dr. Filinov. That being said, anything under 3 days wouldn’t necessarily count as an extended fast so it’s likely less of an issue here depending on how long you plan to dry fast. Maybe don’t make it a habit if you prefer to err on the side of caution.
I prefer to start with a 2-3 day dry fast before transitioning into wet because it seems to accelerate the process of reaching ketosis/autophagy, bypassing or minimizing a lot of negative symptoms associated with the “keto flu” as your body shifts from glucose to ketones.
I would say you are fine. People say that you drain your electrolytes when drinking so much water, but when you dry fast your body will seek balance and will bring your body back into homeostasis. If you drank like a gallon / day you will probably want to break the fast because you would be way out of balance.
I would listen to your body and not be afraid to break the fast if you feel it’s necessary.
