If I ingest a phytic acid rich food along with another food that does not contain phytic acid, will the other food have its nutritional value altered?
Phytic Acid
Phytic acid (from grains, seeds, and nuts) may impair the absorption of zinc, iron, calcium, and other minerals from foods eaten during the same meal.
This is rarely a concern for anyone who eats a balanced, nutritionally adequate diet. It could be an issue in countries where malnutrition is common.
Conceivably, yes.
However, it’s worth noting that if you cook your food, vegetables that have high phytic acid are still generally going to be a net positive unless you have a medical condition or a specific nutrient deficiency that needs resolving. Don’t worry about it if you’re not having a problem.
