Can someone explain to me juice??

Is juice really that bad? Is it just purely sugar? If it is, why isn’t it considered added sugar, but stuff like honey is? If the only thing that makes it bad is that the fiber is removed, would eating something high fiber while drinking juice negate the bad effects? Is hand squeezed juice the same as premade juice? Is lemon juice just as bad as juices like orange or apple juice? Juice is just so confusing :((

Look at it like this. Eat an orange. Juicy delicious and sweet, 9 grams of sugar, lots of fiber. Now drink one cup of OJ that’s 3 oranges, chug out of the carton and you might be consuming 5-6 oranges. That’s more sugar than a can of soda.

I stopped drinking pineapple and pomegranate juice about five months ago, and I have lost a lot of weight as a result.

I was drinking less than a cup a day too.

I did not realize it at the time, but it was really holding me back in terms of my weight loss goals.

It is a natural sugar so they dont have to list any as added. You are looking for soluable fiber to replace the missing stuff. Hand made is okay if you add the insides to the juice serving. High pulp juice is the best. It applies to any type of juice.

Personally, I think it varies depending on the juice, however, in order to make most juices taste good, sugary fruits are used to mask the bitterness of greens. Also, I have tested different juices with a CGM and fruit juices cause a very sharp spike and sometimes messed up my glucose levels for the rest of the day. This was mitigated a bit with a balanced macro meal and also did not occur as much with a green juice with <10 g of sugar
