Can't consistently stick to 16:8 with sports in college.

Hey! I’ve started IF 16:8 this summer. Did pretty well, had one “cheat” day a week of 15:9. Usually eating a bit later out with ppl, or something like that.

Now school has started up, and I’m struggling to keep it consistent. Trying to limit myself to two meals over the fasting period, but apparently breakfast before classes is one of the few proven positives of even having breakfast.
Additionally, I have men’s volleyball practice from 8-10PM, and I’m usually starving afterwards. I can’t have my two meals at 2PM and 10PM, so I’m a bit stuck. Might another diet be better in this situation?

Or would something like greek yogurt for breakfast, then a 12PM lunch and 10PM dinner be okay? Not thrilled to switch it to 14:10 with breakfast too, at that point its not even IF..

Answer

I usually eat between 11.30 am and 6 pm. When travelling and staying at hotels where breakfast is included, I’ll have breakfast, skip lunch and have dinner whenever. On those days, I keep an estimate of the number of calories consumed and try not to exceed my budget. TLDR: When IF isn’t possible, watch your calorie intake.
