Can't sleep when fasting, should I smoke weed to go to sleep?

Been doing IF for more than a year now, on and off. Whenever I do IF, it takes me hours and hours to go to sleep (currently been in bed for over 3 hours and not getting a little tired). I can control myself over the munchies but this induced insomnia is driving me crazy.

I don’t smoke often, only socially (I’d say once every 2-3 weeks), but I’ve been thinking of hitting a one-hitter before bed to help put me to bed and not break my fast. The only thing that is stopping me is that as part of my weight loss program, I run 3 miles 2-3 times a week, and I fear that increasing how often I smoke will damage my lungs and hurt my cardio.

Should I just deal with the insomnia or has anyone been through what I’m going through and saw results, good or bad?

Answer

Vape weed, don’t burn it and inhale the smoke. Vaping weed will cause by far less damage if any at all. And weed actually opens air ways and can help with cardio but that’s at the time of running not before sleep obviously.

i had the same problem until i schedule my IF to 16/8 circadian rythme you eat around 8_ 10 am then 16 pm …Be extra careful with melatonin even a low dose can mess up with your sleep patterns for a long time. Eventually eat later just before sunset then try to have your breakfast later….like around 11 am.This summer i had to move and it took all my energy to pack ahead of time because of covid restrictions- i could not get the jab i was 2500 km from my country…. strangely my body went in a state of hyper activity and stress… I had to finish everything 1 week earlier. Since then everything went to normal. But i exercise a lot now i m sleeping long nights and i stopped if because i have lost too much weight.

Sleep is too important to neglect. Ideally you’ll talk to your doctor about it, but you should probably start with a melatonin pill before going with the pot. But if the sleep issues continue, seek medical help.

Answer

Try taking Glycine, I’ve been using it for years! it’s a natural amino acid that helps with falling asleep & staying asleep, perhaps combine it with Magnesium glycinate as it’s one of the most absorbable kinds that readily available, start slowly 500 mg then in a week or so up it to 1000 or 1500 mg
