Answer

You reminded me the first time I got them, and I didn’t even know how you are suppose to eat them. so I just opened the package and tried eating them like chips. I was like what is this shit, and just throwed them away. 😅

Now I eat them every single day, lmao.

I don’t know the answer, and I know this is not what you asked in your question, but what about overnight oats just preparing them the night before and then in the morning they’re ready to go ready to walk out the door.

Answer

I’ve definitely seen a lot of smoothie recipes with dry oats, I don’t think cooking or soaking is essential. No one is worrying about overnight oats!

But having to choke it down doesn’t sound sustainable. Some of the recipes suggest putting the dry oats in first and pulsing them a few times to break them down. If that doesn’t help, I would try putting the oats and the almond milk in the blender the night before so they soften, and add everything else when you blend. Seems like either way might make a nicer breakfast!

Answer

I do not like using precooked oats for smoothies but I don’t mind the taste of dry oats either. I also use quick cooking oats. Usually some degree of nutrients can be lost during a cooking or soaking process but you’re really fine doing it either way you like.

Answer

I don’t see why it’d be bad …. I make a similar smoothie once or twice a week for my kid. I use 2 tbsp of rolled oats (quick 2 min soak in hot water, while I gather other ingredients), 1 cup of whole milk, 1 tbsp of almond butter, 1 tbsp of cacao powder and 1 frozen banana. I use vitamix and do not get gritty texture.

Edit: kid has never complained with tummy issues after drinking this smoothie.
