Can you really eat whatever you want when doing every other day fasting and still lose weight?

Hello all!

So i have a quick question i am 5’1 and weigh 180lbs i was 200lbs but lost 20lbs recently. My goal is 135/140lbs. I decided to start fasting so as of right now i fast for 24 hours and then eat lunch and dinner the next day. I just moved into a new area and became pretty close with my boss she’s been so very helpful with this new diet. She has lost 60lbs she said by fasting then eating and so on and on the days that she gets to eat she’s had donuts, pizza, pasta and it just blows my mind to think you can lose weight doing this fasting while eating like that. So my question is if i continue to fast for 24 hours then eat lunch and dinner will i continue to lose weight? and can i really eat WHATEVER i want on the day’s that I’m not fasting? my mom is extremely skeptical of this and claims i won’t lose any weight doing it but then there’s my boss who’s lost 60lbs.

This is my first time posting so pls be kind lol thank you.

You can technically eat whatever you want but you can’t necessarily eat as much as you want. If you were to binge eat every other day then no, but if you’re sensible and keep your weekly calories in a net deficit then yes. But try to eat healthier food, because it energises you, fills you up and makes you feel good. Of course a little treat is fine every now and again but know the limit

I do 24fasts daily and mix in 72 hour fasts about once a month. You can eat whatever you want in your feeding window however the more processed foods you eat the more unpleasant your time fasting will be. It will cause INTENSE cravings and hunger pangs. If you’re in a stressful situation I find that this can be even more magnified (at least for me). You may also feel dizzy and have a headache as you’ll essentially be in withdrawal from the sugars/carbs. Additionally, depending on the length of the fast and your body most people experience stomach problems breaking fasts with unhealthy foods. Breaking a fast with, say a pizza will cause instant butt pee for a lot of people so make sure you’re near a bathroom! It is far better to eat whole non processed foods 99.9% of the time. If you have a one off meal for a special occasion then it might be worth feeling like dog poo for the fasting period though. 🤷‍♀️
