Can’t sleep

I can’t sleep unless I eat right before bed, something like bread and butter or ice cream or cereal.

It’s 1:30 am and I’ve been up since 6 am. I have to get up at 6 am again in the morning.

This is crazy. How do other people go to sleep hungry?

Answer

I feel you. I’m used to eating my 2 meals 5-6pm but have recently switched to eating them in the morning to be in sync with circadian rhythm. Now I get cravings at night.

My advice is an appetite suppressant. 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of water or just a glass of ice water or even ice cubes.

Answer

I think this is habit not need. Push your window later until at bedtime you feel empty but not hungry. You aren’t hungry every time you are empty, right? And I think sleep>diet, as long as you aren’t overeating. Take a Benadryl for a night or two, or CBD or melatonin, do yin yoga before bed, establish a ritual for getting sleepy that doesn’t involve food.
