For hypertrophy, would caseine be better than normal whey in terms of slower digestion before going to sleep?
Casine is overhyped. When these claims say “slower digesting” it really just means “hard on digesting”. When you sleep you go under processes that reduce muscle catabolism, and you’re also suppose to be in a rest and digest state, with digest mostly referring to metabolic processes. So digestive speed won’t make you more anabolic
I’ve also yet to see a study showing any significant effect of carsine over whey. If there is? Feel free to submit the study.
Your total protein intake and quality of protein is far more significant than anything you’ll ever hear people push.
However if your not convinced by this. You can look at bodybuilder natural and not natural, you’ll struggle to find any that will take casine.
I have not seen any research to suggest the two are any different in their ability to stimulate MPS.
And you don’t need to wake up in the middle of the night to chuck protein shakes or have them before bed. The whole catabolic state at night thing is broscience.
