Posting for accountability; everyone is welcome to share their fasting plans for Christmas in the comments!
Sunday 12/25: we have 2 Christmas meals (lunch and supper). I will be continuing my TMAD (two meals a day) with only those meals. My “danger food” of the day is Oreo truffle balls (I have previously eaten dozens of these cream cheese and Oreo treats in a day) but I am going to have 2-3 of them with my evening meal. No snacks in between.
Monday 12/26: an all day event with a large lunch planned. I will continue the TMAD trend and plan on having a bigger meal at lunch. Danger food: bread. I am bringing homemade bread for this event, so I will plan to eat two slices with butter and load up on veggies with a smaller portion of the rest of the foods.
I will check in on Tuesday with an update of how everything went! Let me know your plans below!
So I’m on maintenance, and will be spending Christmas alone this year (expat life ftw). Decided to treat myself and forget all about calories and macros. In my country we celebrate on Christmas’ Eve (and on Xmas Day we eat the leftovers lol), so I’m going to do exactly that. Except sometime for lunch, not dinner, because I don’t want to go to bed with a heavy stomach, and I don’t want to mess up my schedule more than I have to.
So my treat? Full raclette (raclette cheese, other cheeses, potatoes, cured meats, some veggies, bread) WITH dessert (slice of Bûche de Noël, traditional French Christmas cake). Right now I just came back from the gym and I’m at about 22 hours fast, so by the time I get around to it, I should be at around 24hrs.
I’ll close my eating binging window right after that, and will do at least 18-22 hours until tomorrow (should be able to go ski tomorrow morning, weather permitting, so that’ll help).
Will probably have enough left to do another meal without the dessert - either tomorrow or sometime next week.
Guessing that’ll be about all my calorie budget for the week in two days lol.
After that, well, back to my regular schedule and food. I may decide to do a 36hrs fast sometime during the week, probably Monday, depending on how I feel. If the past is any indication, I’ll also feel like light meals for a week - salads, soups, etc.
I’m not fasting over the festive period tbh.
Today we have had homemade bread with cheese and meat/fake meats at work, currently waiting on a Chinese take away.
Christmas day, it’s the first one with my partner so we are doing breakfast and then I’m off to my mums, I’m cooking a Christmas dinner.
Boxing day, omlets, homemade bread, at work and then a buffet at my mums.
Bank Holiday Tuesday, Christmas Dinner with my partner.
Wednesday back to fasting
Ended a 26h fast today at lunch and will have dinner today, brunch and dinner tomorrow with some festive libations sprinkled in. Focused on keeping it keto aside from the single malt scotch….then onto a 41-48h fast after Christmas dinner. Not being super strict to enjoy the day and will focus next week and into the new year. Happy Holidays everyone!!
