Cold or flu symptoms at the beginning?

Hey guys! Back at it again after the holidays. Following a 18/6 routine. Today I went to the gym and did two hours of weight lifting and 30mins or cardio. I noticed when I broke my fast (Apple cider vinegar, lemon and water) and had my first meal I got a fever of 101. I held out until dinner and and finished the day with some soup and medicine.

Could starting the fasting again affect my body in such a way or was it just a unfortunate coincidence?

Hmm, that doesn’t seem right. If you described your symptoms as “tired, aches, headache, dizzy, brain fog”….I would say “yes, that’s all typical of beginning fasting again.”

But running a temperature is not. Keep an eye on that.

Answer

IF on its own shouldn’t cause a fever. Nausea, sometimes, but not a high fever.

If you want to continue IF without seeing a doctor, then you need to eliminate variables. Like cut out exercise for a day or two and see what happens. Or change your first meal. Move your eating window. See if one thing in particular is causing the issue.
