Coming off Diet Pills

Hello, please no nasty comments. I have been taking Qsymia and have reached my goal weight. I have to come off of the pills and know that everyone gains weight when they do. I would like to try IF to maintain my weight. My question is: does anyone on this thread do IF to MAINTAIN their weight, and if so, what hours do you recommend? Thanks so much in advance for any advice.

Answer

No judgment here. I lost around 45 lbs on medication (tirzepatide) along with low carb and some intermittent fasting and am now working on maintenance.

This is specifically what I’ve been doing. Various fasting experts I’ve been reading suggest it’s good to keep your body guessing a bit and also to follow a fast with some feasting (which is why after my 42 hr fast I enjoy five meals in a row, lunch and dinner Friday and three on Sat - the only day I eat three).

Monday: (20:4) eat 2pm-6pm

Tues: (18:6) eat 12pm-6pm

Wed: (20:4) eat 2pm-6pm

Thurs: none

Friday: (end 42 hr fast) eat 12pm-6pm

Sat: (15:9) eat 9am-6pm

Sun: (18:6) eat 12pm-6pm

Answer

I lost 65# by using keto + CICO + IF, gained back 5# right after switching to maintenance. I only do IF now and avoid high-carb foods, but not all the time, no sugar except fruit/mostly berries- no calorie counting to maintain. Sedentary/ no exercise except daily dog-walk and occasional gardening. 72 yo female.

So far, maintaining for over a year. I do simple noon-8pm daily but whatever schedule works for you.
