Confused about calorie restriction

Hello! I have been doing IF and OMAD and on a ketoish diet. My goal is to shrink my fibroids, lose weight and balance my hormones (infertility issues). Will a 42-hour fast 3 times a week help me reach these goals (per this guide: https://idmprogram.com/wp-content/uploads/IDM-Program-Manual.pdf)? Can I consume herbal tea? I’ve been sucking on a piece of sea salt each time I get hungry and to help with electrolytes.

The link didn’t work for me. And you may hear differing opinions but I think tea is fine, if it has no calories.

I just finished a four day fast. I will tell you I am not sure if I could fast for 42 hours 3 times a week. That sounds like alternate day fasting which is a thing. But so far doing a longer fast less often would be easier to maintain. Less ups and downs.

OK, Idk how much weight you need to lose but when I rapidly lost 40 pounds on keto it made my hormones go haywire and caused estrogen dominance which greatly aggravates fibroids. Once I started to use progesterone cream to oppose the excess estrogen that was released from my fat things went back to normal. It was a miserable few months though. I confirmed what was happening with saliva and blood hormone tests. I’m down 80 pounds total and currently do 3 or so fasts a week with the method you mentioned. I have another 20 to go and I’m done. I prefer this method over keto because I can eat whatever I want within reason now.

That’s the same as my new regimen! I fast Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and those result in a 40 hour or so fast each time. I drink unsweetened herbal tea with Celtic sea salt throughout each of these fasts.
