Could someone please help me with high insulin levels?

I am obese and have very high insulin level of over 20 and I can’t lose any weight. Would intermittent fasting be able to cure this? I had been doing OMAD for 1 week before I measured my insulin level which showed they were so high. In fact I had not eaten for 24 hours before they were measured at over 20. How long does it take to bring the insulin to a normal range? This may sound crazy but I can FEEL the insulin resistance and all the moles on my body are growing. This is something new that happened over the past year or 2. What would be the best way to lower insulin level and how long would it take? Thanks for any help 🙏

Answer

I cannot talk about how long it will take to resolve this, but a combination of IF and a very low carb diet, even keto, is definetely worth a considaration. You reduce insulin by not eating during IF and dont spike it to much when you eat if you stick to keto foods. For more information you can gladly DM me or do some research.

Answer

High insulin levels or high glucose levels? If you mean glucose a reading of 20 would not allow you to do anything. It’s a medical emergency.

A little more context would help. In general though daily exercise ( 30 minutes of walking) combined with tracking your food would be a good place to start. I got my prediabetes under control with dance fitness, long walks, and lots of water (no drinking calories).

Family member of mine does a mix of keto and IF (16:8). They have great results. It took them about a week for their a1c to drop. They went without insulin during this time.

Whenever you do this, keep a very close eye on your insulin levels. Not by feel, but actually test.

Came back to see how this unfolded. And this appears to be a tough one.So first to say, Keto is usually safe but your talking about suspecting some sort of liver damage?

Has this been checked out, confirmed or something?

And please, would you kindly use the units to the data too? 🙈

Its just that insulin and Bloodglucose can be meassured in different units and if I dont have them the data tells me nothing 🙈
