Is it worth it to keep going to 48 hours? If yes, what is the additional benefit.
To add, I’m trying to detox from a week of holiday visits.
So I use an app for my fasting and it tells me the different places in intermittent fasting you are at. I’ve also read some of Dr Fengs books I think you should be in autophagy right now according to the app. I don’t remember when it starts according to his books. And the next step is about your growth hormone goes up. So it’s up to you. According to the app the next step starts at 48-49 hours.
I don’t think there are a lot of studies on this, even studies on OMAD are somewhat scarce, so nobody can tell you for sure.
That said, I just did my first 48h fast and plan to only eat 1 meal every 48h all December and see how that goes. I found if you are already used to OMAD, going 48h is no problem at all. I kinda want to find out how far I can extend it, but I’d stop at a week fasting
