Had my 6-month medical check-up and was disappointed to say the least. Although I’ve been on the 18-6 protocol for the past 5 months, my weight has not changed and I haven’t changed physically. I may have dropped a few pounds, but that’s it. I’m so disappointed in my choice of protocol. My food is and will always be healthy. I used to be a professional cook and have a certification in nutrition, plus I read Dr. Fung and listen to his videos on youtube.
I’ve determined that the 16:8 and 18:6 protocols maybe too much food for me, despite my serving regular, meal-sized portions. As a senior, my body probably doesn’t require that much food anymore, plus I’ve been sedentary for the past couple of years and until I resume my fitness curriculum, less food to one meal a day will be my new protocol.
I congratulate people for their successes on these forums all of the time and want to give myself some of those earned adulations, too and, one day, I will! I didn’t get serious about my IF until June 2021, but five months later, I’m still struggling despite my efforts. I eat the same food for breakfast and have balanced meals for dinner. No food at 7pm, but perhaps my body is in maintenance mode. It may sound like I eat a strict program, but I do include snacks, but only during my eating window. It may or may not be where I’m screwing up. I’m not sure. My first meal is bacon, eggs, and toast and 3 teaspoons of ice cream afterwards. Some evenings, I’ll have 1/4 cup of pistachios with 1/2 glass of wine before dinner and a glass (5 oz) with dinner. Not sure if these are the culprits, but something’s not right. Nothing else and dinner must be over by 7pm.
Anyway, after my out-of-town guests leave next week, I’ll begin my OMAD journey next Saturday, and hopefully, I’ll start seeing some results because Lord knows I’m so tired of starting over after so many try-ons.
Hi, I’m 2 days into a seven day water and snake juice fast. It’s going pretty well, a little hard to sleep at night. What I’m really looking forward to is breaking the fast and going into 2 or more rolling 72s.
This site and others share a great deal of lessons learned. They discussed the ability to fast a week or more and then roll into other fasts suggests. Interesting challenge.

I’ve stopped intermittent fasting, for now. The combination of recovering from major injuries I suffered after being run over in addition to adjusting to my new ADD meds has resulted in a 17.8 BMI/my now being underweight. I’m focusing on healing my body and restoring my strength, range of motion, and now also my weight. I hope once I’m all sorted out I can return to IF because I really like it
