MyFitnessPal says I can have up to 80g of sugar but is that natural, added or both? Does natural sugar count towards your overall sugar intake?
“Natural” and refined sugar are the same so even if you eat honey for example that still counts towards sugar.
You can tell from most packaging as they’ll have a carbohydrates and and “of with sugars” underneath.
My fitness pal counts every sugar. It’ll say you’re over your daily sugar limit when you’ve only eat fruit. I always ignore that because I know I’ve only had 10 grams added sugar and the rest of natural sugar like fruit.
Depends on your diet, 80g of overall carbohydrates (sugar) is around 320kcal, which is REALLY low in carbohydrates basically a low carb/almost ketogenic diet for a woman.
But the recommended added sugar intake from all the federations is something between 0-10g maximum
That said, if you work out or have a heavy routine I wouldn’t recommend having less than 40% of your diet on carbohydrates…
