Hey fellow fasting comrades!
On day 2 of my water fast and wanted to post my daily check in!
So I was able to sleep decently. As I mentioned in my previous post, I have an injury currently. I took aleve pm with diphenhydramine, so it kinda knocked me out. Usually on day 2 of my fast I get insomnia, but I guess the combination of the meds and my body needing to recover from the injury made me sleep.
Slept in a bit more than I would have liked and was groggy all day. Probably gonna hold back from taking more aleve pm.
My emotions were pretty intense, and I had to accept the fact that I can’t always just rely on food or sugary treats to numb my uncomfortable emotions. Stepping out of our comfort zones, after all, is what helps us improve. I journaled a bit to express my negative thoughts in a way that didn’t involve stuffing my face.
My family was eating some of my favorite dishes and I felt a bit jealous of their food this afternoon. But I kept busy and stayed away from the kitchen.
My sisters and I are planning holiday treats and recipes that we traditionally make. I plan on fasting through January 5th (if 21 days), so my plan is to store some of the holiday treats in Tupperware for a few more days until I can refeed. I will refeed properly with broth and slowly introduce food, of course, before eating some of the saved holiday recipes.
I felt intense emotions earlier, but after facing them instead of numbing them, I reached the mental clarity I was hoping for.
Tomorrow is day 3. And I believe when fasting, the 1st 3 days are hell. Keto flu is rampant. 3 days in hell for a lifetime in heaven though, am I right? So I’m going to grit my teeth through day 3 and stay the course.
Day 2 and I already feel less bloated, less swelling and inflammation, and the scale dropped 2.5 lbs (of course, plenty is water weight).
That is the update, peace out homies! Until day 3!!! 😜✌
sucker punches the air✊👊
Great update friend! Good luck to you. Will try to keep tabs on ya. It’s so interesting how everyone’s experience is a little different. This morning d3 was great! No exhaustion (ok maybe a little around 4-5pm).
