Day 4 of 7 day fast, feel okay, but blood glucose is at 56 - concerns?

I’ve been doing a 7 day fast, with the following protocol: - water, 2 or 3 cups black coffee no later than 1pm, non-caffeinated tea after that - 1 zinc tablet per day (400% dv) - 2 magnesium tablet per day (60% dv) - 1 potassium tablet per day (2% dv) - 4 grams salt per day I’m not diabetic or pre-diabetic as of my last physical 6 months ago. Here’s what I noticed with my blood sugar: - day 1 - average of 80 - day 2 - average of 75 - day 3 - average of 65 - day 4 - this morning it was at 56 I feel pretty good this morning and don’t have the associated symptoms of low blood sugar, but I’m also concerned because everywhere I look, 56 is considered really low. Anyone have experience with this or a link to a decent resource? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you!

If you want to feel assured visit your doctor and keep them in the loop for your next round of fasting. They will be a great tool in monitoring yourself. Don’t know about the blood sugar but maybe your doc would take a phone call?

I’m having these questions as well. This fast:

Start 4.2Day 1 avg: 3.6Day 2 avg: 3.2Day 3 avg: 2.9Day 4 avg : 2.7Day 5 avg: 2.4

An alltime low of 2.1 (38)

Studies have shown that on extended fasts people can go very low (less than 1.0 or 18) but this is over 30+ days and have no side effects. Some people will say that once in ketosis, your blood sugar doesn’t matter at all but I can’t find proof on this. From anything research related I’ve come across, it seems like your blood sugars -slowly- drop over the course of days. I can’t find anything really on them rather quickly dropping off (and continuing to do so) other than possibly non-diabetic hypoglycaemia. I share your concern and I’d suggest until you get a definitive answer (like if your doctor can provide one), listen to your body

Cut it off if you’re unusually dizzy, nauseous, numb/tingling, blurry vision, or anything else that seems concerning to you. Better safe than sorry. Good luck and reach out to me if you ever find an answer
