Day 6 of my first 10-day fast

Follow-up to my last post. I’m a little over halfway there (53%) and so far so good.

I’m fasting for weight loss and all the health benefits. My longest fast before this was 6 days, so today’s a big day for me. I started out intending to only do water and salt, potassium, and magnesium, but I decided to have some plain peppermint tea last night.

Yesterday was probably the toughest so far. I started having more food cravings and even started feeling sick last last night. The peppermint tea helped, and right after I had a very unexpected bm. I instantly felt better after it was out, so I’m wondering if I had some toxic buildup. Does anyone know much about that?

I’ve been fighting insomnia since day 3, but I finally got some good sleep last night. Almost 8 hours, lower heart rate than the last couple days, and plenty of REM. (According to my fitbit.) Deep sleep was very short, but that’s been the norm since day 2 or 3. I read it’s because of an increase in adrenaline.

I also feel quite a bit weaker physically. Taking a shower is suddenly exhausting, and anything physical wears me out fast. I’m trying to just take it easy so my body can use energy to heal.

Let me know if you have questions or advice, and thanks for motivating me to keep going!

Wow, so inspiring. I wish I had your willpower. I am approaching the end of day 2 and already fed up of my brain trying to argue me into giving up. If i can hold on for a few more hours, it will be bedtime, sighh.
