Detox binders during a fast?

I’ve been told the powerful detox of the water fast can be reduced to negligible if you don’t help your body actually get rid of the toxins, like heavy metals, through supplementation with binders like chlorella and charcoal. Otherwise they get reabsorbed.

Has anyone done this, can you share how exactly did you supplement?

Your body does this naturally. It is literally what your kidney, bodyfat, sweat glands, and liver do. Your GI tract is never filled up either, another myth. Those cells rapidly die and slough off. Awkward materials like a popcorn kernel shell can get stuck in grooves meaning it takes longer to exit.. but I digress.

Heavy exercise, long baths, saunas, or steam rooms and cycling through lots of water will ‘detox’ you in a couple of days.

Any excess heavy metals are already dealt with unless you do NOT live in a First World Country.

If you’re looking for something like alcohol or medicine detox that builds up in your bodily tissues all over then that takes between two and four weeks of being completely absent of it to be considered clean.

There are always exceptions.

Oh, milk thistle can help your liver but is not necessary. Forgot to mention.

I have read into this before but not exactly in relation to water fasting. I have done several days of water fasting and I have done several weeks of detox, but never together.

The information I found (sorry, no sources since this was personal research I was doing for my own eyes) basically is saying that your body can detox itself, as it should. However, when your colon is not healthy or you are repeatedly exposed to heavy metals and toxins then your body can struggle to flush it out properly. So, depending on your personal situation, this may not be necessary. I live in a moldy home so I always keep things handy in case I start to show toxicity symptoms again. When I lost almost 40 lbs, my symptoms came back. Turns out that toxins are stored in fat (so is THC!) So it was all releasing into my blood stream, giving me some terrible itchy skin and migraines.

To your question about anyone who has done one before. I have done an herbal colon cleanse with activated charcoal and bentonite clay. The problem with this, is that activated charcoal can make you constipated, so you must consume fiber with it. If it sits in your colon, then it won’t do you any good in the long run. Beware, you must be careful to fully understand how to properly use the binder. Things like activated charcoal will absorb nutrients from your food and any medication. With charcoal you have to be careful what cup, spoon, and water you use.

I am unsure if there is a binder that will move through your colon with the lack of food and fiber to push it through. So my final thoughts are that if you are showing symptoms of toxicity on a normal day to do a detox before the fast, if not then maybe do it immediately after to help pull the toxins out. While you are fasting, the best thing you can do for your body is to flush it out with tons of water.

I am not an expert by any means, and if you find a detox binder that has the ability to flush out toxins (safely, some herbal detoxes can be very dangerous, like liver tinctures) without food then I would love to look into it.
