It happens, especially if you’re newer to fasting. Depends on what you ate, as others have said. And how far you were from a toilet. The body knows when you’re nowhere near a toilet. The farther away you are, the more likely you are to have diarrhea. 😃🚽💩
What did you eat?
Reintroduction of food after extended fasts vary from person to person.
After 48 hours, I can eat anything and be fine. After 72 hours, if I eat just anything, I’ll get diarrhea. This is likely because your digestive system needs a soft start.
So after a 72 hour fast, my reintroduction of food is well thought out. It’s all stuff easy on the digestive system. A vegetable juice blend followed by waiting a couple hours. Then a couple spoons of fermented sauerkraut. Then after another hour or two, I’ll begin to add food like 1 egg, white rice, etc…
All in all, I take about 12 hours AFTER my 72 hour fast to get back to eating normally. It’ll definitely be different for you. Just gotta experiment and see what works.
