Did you started with Fasting or with another diet?

Most of us here combine IF with another diet (low carbs for me), my question for those of you who do combine IF with a diet is: Did you start with fasting and then incorporate another diet, or did you add fasting to another diet?

I started Keto and in my researching found a link on Reddit to Dr Jason Fung and Eric Berg. I started watching all the Videos and bought a couple of books. I started Keto then moved to OMAD then ADF now I do 72 hour fasts.

I quit eating added sugar, lost 10 lbs over 3 months when my progress stalled. Then I stumbled upon using fasting to fix insulin resistance and then the weight started falling of. Even though I did 16:8 before quitting sugar, anything more would have felt impossible. Now /most/ fasting is a breeze!
