Person A gains 30lbs by eating nothing but nuts and berries
Person B gains 30 lbs by eating Fast Food
Is the fat on person A somehow superior to the fat on person B, or is fat fat? Related question - would person A have an easier time fasting than person B?
It’s possible person B gained more visceral fat than person A, which would make person B’s fat gain worse. I don’t know enough about how it all works to know for sure if person B is more likely to gain more visceral fat.
gut fat bad, other fat just fat
healthy wt gain -> subcutaneous fat - under the skin, the stuff that goes in and out on a daily basis (or just in if you overeat)
fast food would definitely go to gut fat, non alcoholic fatty liver disease etc. (more of a in only scenario)
fructose can only be metabolized by the liver. it only stores as liver fat when eaten in excess. in your hypothetical, you can get non alcoholic fatty liver disease from fruit. person B’s food would contain a ton of fructose too. i dont know the fructose amount in any of these, but at the point of 30 lbs excess, it doesnt matter which is holier and most pure. either case will store fat everywhere, organs and all.
sugar, from no matter what source, makes fasting hard. person C, the keto guy, would have the easy time fasting lol.
