Feeling slightly discouraged after the holiday weekend… didn’t think I went crazy with my eating but I’m still up 8 pounds from Wednesday. I’ve lost about 15 pounds slowly since June with intermittent fasting so this is hard to see. Any advice on what I should do? Planning to complete a 36 hour fast and hopefully my weight regulates by then.
I also gained 8 lbs! I was super disappointed and kept trying to get back on the horse by pushing through a 5 day fast. Psychologically this messed me up and I kept eating after 24 hours… I usually do rolling 48s like breathing. Today I just forgave myself, gave up on thinking negatively about it. Weather it’s 8 lbs of fat or 8 lbs of water it’s there! I can either keep up this cycle of blaming myself and regretting it or get back to work and make progress. I still feel disappointed when I see a rounder face in the mirror but I know it won’t be like that for long. We just have to push through the set backs. We can’t let them hold us back. Nothing in life is a linear line!
Unless you’ve been eating 6000+ calories a day since Wednesday you definitely haven’t gained 8 lbs of fat. MAYBE 1 or even 2 but the rest is almost certainly water weight and will come off within 3 days of getting back on track. It’s completely normal, don’t sweat it!
