Answer

That happens when you run out of energy to burn through digestion because the excess energy has either turned to fat because the digestion process is complete or you did not eat enough. At any rate, your body is switching off digestion as a power source and if there is no remaining insulin in your blood, you will be able it enter ketosis and begin surviving off stored fat. Your brain can’t live off fat because the fat globules can’t get past the brain blood barrier, they are too big. Your brain survives on sugars as they as small but without them it uses ketones so you will feel unwell during the transition, if you are new to this and/or have been dieting with carbs and sugars on the menu. It gets better the more you avoid carbs and sugars and begin fasting. The liver is usually not used to making ketones to burn fat and it is a bit slow to start, but once it gets some practice it improves like your heart and lungs would if you walked a bit more. Nothing helps the transition more than getting a bit of exercise. It works any excess insulin out of your blood quicker and you dizzy spell with be much shorter. You won’t even have to lie down if you are walking, maybe slow up for a few seconds if you even notice at all. In the mean time, taking the attitude that the hard work of fasting is finally starting to pay off is a reassuring feeling.
