Dizzy, weak, and sad

Hi all,

I’ve been on this weight loss journey since January 31st. When I started I was 190 now 182(yay). But I wanted to start fasting to help with weight loss. I intentionally started yesterday. When I couldn’t find anything healthy to eat for breakfast and the same goes for lunch. I did eat dinner around6:45pm. I thought I would try it again to today. I skipped breakfast and lunch but eat dinner just ease myself to full fast.

But something different happened today. After I got home from the gym at 6:50am. I started to feel weak, I but assumed it was the workout . I also started my period today so maybe that’s a contributing factor. I took pain killers to help the cramps before I went to the gym. But anyway. I was working from home in bed, when I felt really tired. I took a small nap but I started to feel weak when I woke up. My body felt sore. I stayed in bed the whole day. But never got hungry. When I walked to you the bathroom I was very very dizzy. I felt drunk. I notice my face started getting red and swollen around my eyes lips and cheeks. I couldn’t hold my balance while standing or sitting in the bathroom. I generally felt drunk. My eyes were blurred, I couldn’t walk properly to my bedroom. As I’m writing this I still haven’t gotten up and it’s almost time for me to have dinner.

Idk if it’s because I was more active yesterday (went to gym, target, grocery store and few more place.) Rather today I just went to the gym and stayed in bed. The dizziness was so bad I took my hair vitamins that’s 35 calories just to stop the dizziness. Should I continue to fast? Possibly not on my period?

Where you on a caloric restriction diet before you decided to stop eating? This doesn’t sound like a normal reaction to two days of OMAD. Heck I’m about to wrap day 2 of 4 and I’m as bright eyed and bushy tailed as can be.

I think you should have a medical checkup. Blood work may spot if there is something out of whack that should be taken care off.

I personally can’t fast during my period. Blood loss, calotype restriction AND fasting is a lot for your body to handle. Just suspend fasting/calories restriction (without going overboard) during periods and resume afterwards… slows your weight loss down slightly but keeps motivation up :)

Depending on how much you are working out and your previous electrolyte levels, maybe you sweated too many out and didn’t replace them?

Your reaction seems extreme. Multi day fasts are not unpleasant at all for me and I think that is closer to normal once you adjust. I generally break fast because I like to eat and don’t like to give it up for too long, not because I feel bad.

That said, I am a man and don’t have any idea how being on your period would change things aside from seeing several people previously saying it causes them issues.

Good luck to you. I hope you find the issue.
