Do any of you work in food service?

I really want to do an extended fast. I work in food service and I’m worried I may have issues with being around food constantly. Does anyone have any advice?

Answer

I work at a bowling alley and since I’m in management I’m often jumping around helping everywhere, including in the restaurant area. I’m pretty used to being around food when fasting now. During a proponged fast, days 3 and 4 are usually the hardest and then the appetite goes way down.

Answer

I don’t work in food service but cook for my kids who eat every 1.5-2 hours. If I am not prepping, I am cooking or feeding or cleaning dishes - it takes a lot of discipline and someone said on a thread a while ago that cooking gave them insulin spikes from the smells of food. I hope that does not happen to me!

Answer

I used to work in food service but I didn’t eat on the job as we weren’t allowed to for hygiene reasons. Do you mean you want to stay fasting during your breaks, or are you usually snacking while you’re on your shift?
