Do I fast too hard?

Whenever I fast I always try to do a full water fast (only water strictly) and this normally lasts for minimum 2 weeks to my longest 8 weeks. I want to know if this is dangerous cause I don’t consult doctors.

Holy crap you mad lad. I had a five day fast once and it was too much for me. Now I just do one day fasts. Just finished a two day 57 hour fast but that’s not normal for me.

Regarding your question it seems to be common consensus that 10 days is the mark where refeeding syndrome starts to become a small risk. If you are supplementing your electrolytes than chances are you’re fine. However I really have to wonder. You’ve done multiple 14 day fast? That’s crazy man. What’s your background? Do you have a ton of weight to lose? I feel like you must be pretty obese in order to be able to do multiple 14 day fasts. In the case that you are, it’s probably fine, but you should get your blood tested before or after each one, and you should probably eat at your total daily energy expenditure for at least three consecutive days in between fasts. And if you’re doing a 14 day faster than you should be easing into eating for the first day so in reality you should probably be easing into eating all day and then eating at your total daily energy expenditure for three more days meaning you should probably have at least four days between these two weeks long fast.

If I was ever going to attempt anything longer than a seven day fast then I would consult a doctor first and get my blood tested to make sure that I don’t have any deficiencies in anything before I start. Since you have done multiple 14 day long fast so you should definitely get your blood tested to see where you’re at right now. You might be totally OK, but you also might have a deficiency. It’s important that you get that checked out.

You don’t necessarily need to consult a doctor on the topic of fasting if you don’t want to do that, although I think you definitely should. But what you definitely should do whether you wanna consult a doctor or not get your blood tested. Because only by getting your blood tested are you gonna know if you’re low in certain types of electrolytes or other vitamins and minerals.
