Do I have to worry about refeeding or electrolytes for a 96 hour fast?

I have 1 hour left on my 72 hour fast and I feel phenomenal! I’ve done several 3 day fasts in the past but never anything more than that.

I guess my real question is when do I have to start worrying about refeeding and electrolytes and all that stuff in case I decide to extend this fast indefinitely?

I usually just sprinkle some salt on my hand and just lick that in the morning and afternoon. I don’t do much physical activity that makes me sweat like crazy. But when my day requires me to do physical labor then yeah you want to have a packet of salt around you incase you feel drowsy or no energy. Drink water too, I don’t put salt into my water but everyone has their own methods.

Great job on making it so far! When you do decide to re-feed, ease into it.
When I completed my recent 150 hour fast, I eased in with a mug of bone broth. A couple of hours later I had 5 pecans. A couple of hours after that I ate 1 scrambled egg and 2 cups of cooked spinach. From then on, I continued eating as normal (which for me is a ketogenic, low carb diet). I hope you find something that works for you!

You have about 4-5 days of circulating electrolytes. That is right on for me personally. You can pull these out of storage but not many of us are any good at it.

I couldn’t fast more than 4 or 5 days until I added more electrolytes. It’s a slow cycle too. You can’t just take a pinch of salt and be cured. I need to be 12 hrs ahead of dry mouth or I’m doomed (to eat).
