Currently been fasting for over a week and lost 3 pounds, however I am taking nicotine lozengers through the day, do these break a fast?
They contain 2mg of nicotine, aspartame, mannitol and 15mg of sodium.
Fasting for what? It would surely break most if not all religious fasts.
For a fast for weight loss, it would have minimal impact.
Many fasters become focused on eating healthy foods when they do eat. Aspartame is not exactly health food. I personally have a bad reaction - bad dizzying headache. If you do some research you’ll find lots of info from people that think it’s bad for you. I’ve read there are not complaints to the FDA about aspartame than any other food additive. But it makes a ton of money for the diet food industry and so far the evidence isn’t sufficient to substantiate putting a warning label or banning it.
Personally I’d have a cup of really good coffee or expresso, black of course.
