Answer

>“Kidney stones form when your urine contains more crystal-forming substances — such as calcium, oxalate and uric acid — than the fluid in your urine can dilute. At the same time, your urine may lack substances that prevent crystals from sticking together, creating an ideal environment for kidney stones to form.”

Uric acid is a waste byproduct. It’s formed when your body breaks down purines, which are found in some foods. Purines show up when cells die and get taken apart. Most of the uric acid leaves your body when you pee, and some when you poop. If you have high levels of uric acid, it can be a sign of disease such as gout.”

Purines are found in the cells of all living things, including humans, animals, and plants, so there is no way to eliminate them from a diet. Purines*, a common chemical compound found in foods and drinks, are metabolized by the body and turned into uric acid.”

So basically, the answer is yes, but actually no. Your diet causes kidney stones, however, dehydration from dry-fasting may keep “crystal-forming substances” in your kidneys for more time than usual, which may cause kidney stones.

> Citrate, a salt in citric acid, binds to calcium and helps block stone formation. “Studies have shown that drinking ½ cup of lemon juice concentrate diluted in water each day, or the juice of two lemons, can increase urine citrate and likely reduce kidney stone risk,” says Dr. Eisner.

So if you want to fast even though you’ve been on a trash diet for so long, it’s best to do a water fast (instead of a dry-fast) with lemons squeezed in the water to avoid kidney damage. Don’t overdo it. Too much lemon water can erode your teeth, and give you acid reflux, but that’s about it, nothing dangerous. Just brush your teeth, and I feel you’ll be fine. Good luck.
