Do salt pills burn holes in your intestine?

There was a post on here a while back (it might have been the wiki, before an edit) where someone mentioned that making salt pills out of gel caps can burn holes in your intestines. Is this true? I’ve been looking everywhere for evidence to corroborate and the most I found is that they give you an upset stomach.

Before I buy gel caps, I wanted to clarify if this was something legit to be concerned about

Many issues and questions can be answered by reading through our wiki, especially the page on electrolytes. Concerns such as intense hunger, lightheadedness/dizziness, headaches, nausea/vomiting, weakness/lethargy/fatigue, low blood pressure/high blood pressure, muscle soreness/cramping, diarrhea/constipation, irritability, confusion, low heart rate/heart palpitations, numbness/tingling, and more while extended (24+ hours) fasting are often explained by electrolyte deficiency and resolved through PROPER electrolyte supplementation. Putting a tiny amount of salt in your water now and then is NOT proper supplementation.

Be sure to read the our WIKI and especially the wiki page on ELECTROLYTES

You’re thinking of this post. Bold letters, about halfway down on mobile. Though to be fair, I’ve never heard of that actually happening.
