Do you crave fast food after extended fast?

I want to give up fast food completely. I stopped for 3 months before then go hack to it. When I do, I go overboard with my eating. I like healthy foods and I enjoy what I cook, but I still crave it.

Answer

I have not had fast “food” in 16 years.

You need to totally stop eating it. Read the book Swindled which explains how the food industry has tricked humanity into over eating their garbage so they can make more money. I start back after a fast with poached eggs.

You know I still crave crappy fast food a lot and I’m not sure I ever won’t mostly due to the convenience (I can’t cook to save my life). But I do try to cut back on the bread of the sandwiches (I pick off like half of the edges) and looking at the calories of stuff, trying to get the healthiest options.

Answer

Yes! I crave fast/junk food a looot. I’m a recovering binge eater and learning to eat appropriate portions has been really difficult for me. Personally, when I allow myself to have a small portion of fast/junk food, I’m able to better keep cravings & binging at a minimum. If I restrict, I end up binging lol. Big Macs are one of my biggest cravings, now I just get the burger without fries and soda. It satisfies the cravings and even if I want more, I’m realistically not going to make a second trip to get more food.

Maybe one day I’ll be able to completely cut out these foods but until then, smaller portions have helped lessen the cravings tremendously.

Answer

No. If for some reason I absolutely have to get fast food, I’ll go to Wendy’s and get a baconator with no bun, no mayo, no ketchup. Then I’ll eat a couple of hard-boiled eggs with it. That’s a good refeed from fast-food. But home food is still better.
