Do you see much progress if you’re already ‘fit/in shape’?

Just like the title says….if you’ve already implemented healthy lifestyle meaning exercising 4-5 days/week and your diet is not terrible….do you still see progress as far as weight loss? I’m a 52-yo female, work out on a regular basis 5x/week at a orangetheory fitness. My body fat is about 19%. I’ve been doing 16/8 IF since January 26th. I’ve only lost 1 lbs so far. The only thing I’ve noticed is I sleep like crap! So ….does IF actually bear any benefits to someone who’s already somewhat healthy??

Answer

I’m kinda skinny at this point, body fat probably around 20-22% (can’t remember what the number was from last time I checked). I’ve been doing IF for a while and saw pretty consistent weight loss, until I started to workout, then started to actually gain weight. Muscle weights more than fat and as I was building muscle (which I do super quick), the scale was going up and my body looked more toned.

Doing IF alone won’t make you lose weight. If you are in a caloric deficit and do IF, that’s when you will probably see some weight loss, but then again have in mind that if you’re building muscle you will likely see weight gain from muscle mass.
