Does 16-17 Hrs dry fast has any advantages over water fast of the same length?

Hello, I am water fasting 16-17hrs per day for last 3 months and last weekend I did successful 5 days water fast. I am thinking of stopping water intake during my daily fasting. Would I have any benefits over water fasting if I start dry fasting for 16-17hrs?

I eat lunch at 1:30 pm, done by 2pm and I don’t eat anything until 8 am next morning. I was thinking to stop drinking water at 2 pm every days and continue drinking water at 7 am next day. I am guessing that this regime would have the same effects as dry fasting during Ramadan, but I might be wrong, because I am going to sleep during my dry fast. Any thoughts?

I do this, different times but between 15-20 hours/ daily. I enjoy it much more than water fasting. Once you get used to it you feel so much better all the time. I am doing this in conjunction with transitioning to raw foods which makes it great because when you haven’t drank water all day you really only crave juicy fruits. My addiction to processed/junk food has gone way down.

I highly recommend it! Since you’re already fasting, just go for it

The big draw is that it burns more fat. 3x vs 1x supposedly. But only for the time you are in the depleted zone.

That will be limited on such a small fasting time. You might like to try 24h fasts or 48h - they produce more of a kick. 3 day and you really see some changes.

Also builds resilience and toughness. The theory is that body breaks down fat to produce water, but will only develop this ability if it has to.
