Does anyone else experience extremely dry mouth, chapped lips and unusual body odor while fasting?

I’m on day 10 of a 16:8 fast. My first time ever fasting. Down 3.6 pounds, sleeping the best ever, waking up energized and ultimately crushing every day unlike ever before.

But I seem to have the most annoying dry mouth, chapped lips and body odor (armpits).

If it weren’t for these things I’d feel like I’ve got a cheat code on life.

Are they normal, do they go away and how can I fight them off?

Thanks fam!

Answer

agree with the others here, fasting means not only you have to compensate the fluid intake you’re missing out through food (most of us are not even aware of the fact that a huge part of our hydration comes from food and not only form drinking) - and on top of that your body needs even more water when fasting.

so drink more I guess :)

and the odor could come from ketosis, which would be annoying but a very good sign!

So funny you say that, I have never had this happen but I woke up in the middle of the night last night hardly able to breath my mouth was so dry and my lips are so dry this morning. I think it’s cause I had a ton of salt yesturday, weird timing though!
