Does anyone else get hungry on prolonged fasts?

I am on Day 9 of a Day 10 fast, and can’t help but notice that I am faced with daily periods of hunger and naps, despite proper electrolyte and water intake. Wanted to know if this happens to others?

Answer

on extended fasts, I usually experience 3-5 hunger pangs daily. Last anywhere from 20 seconds to 5 minutes, but it’s doable. Just distract yourself with funny videos or call a friend or watch pimple popping videos (that makes me lose my appetite QUICK lol)

Answer

If you were in the former habit of eating when you weren’t hungry, but to alleviate boredom, anxiety, or emotional downs, then hunger during a fast might be partly psychological.

Also, if you’ve spent your entire life eating every day, you probably won’t do away with an occasional bout of hunger after nine days or fasting.

Answer

I usually feel the most hungry around lunchtime so I go for a short walk. Tbh I think what triggers my hunger is seeing my coworkers with their food so if I can utilize my lunch break for something better in order to avoid craving a salad I do. Also honestly don’t judge me but if you’re just craving having a snack I usually get an ice water from Starbucks and snack on the ice (I know it’s bad for your teeth but I don’t do it a lot)
