Not advisable, unless you want it to heal very slowly. Your body will need a good nutrition to switch out dead cells and repair the damaged tissue. I’m talking protein, collagen, iron etc. Doing low carb and/or 16/8 may be great for you, and I’m not saying to stuff yourself all day, but your body needs some building materials to heal well.
I don’t have any experience with fasting during this type of recovery, but I imagine that at absolute minimum you would want to do PSMF to make sure your body is able to repair your tissue after surgery without losing muscle.
I don’t know how old you are, but I’m in my early 30s and I have this shitty ankle that I broke twice and sprained realllllly badly once and didn’t let it rest long enough to heal (I was in ballet when I was younger) and now it will basically be shitty for my entire life. If I roll my ankle, you can hear the arthritis grinding and scar tissue popping from a mile away. Without yoga, I probably wouldn’t have much movement in it at all.
If I could go back, I would’ve taken the healing period a lot more seriously. Resting is most important but eating properly is probably a close second.. again, lots of protein. Take care of yourself!
