I’ve done a 40 day and night water fast and my hunger never returned so I’m curious how far my body will go burning fat reserves till It hits complications?
How long hAs it been since you finished your fast and what have you been eating? I felt it appetite came back strong after a long prolonged fast. Was really hard to stop insulin levels spiking and feeling super hungry!
Even tried keto on the last attempt after a Prolonged 3 week fast and it was better but still felt like anything I ate risked spiking insulin levels too high and giving me mad hunger!
I take complications to mean negative health effects. Given that fasting science is in its infancy I really can’t say whether there are long term effects of fasting for so long, things you won’t know about until you are much older. I hope not, but we just don’t know.
For that reason I think, in general, five days or so really should be the maximum for those wanting to improve/maintain health as they age. There’s some data from Russia regarding 21 day fasts, done a maximum of twice from what I recall, but I think there really needs to be more caution.
More isn’t always better.
