Does anyone mix fasting times?

I’m still new to IF, but have been doing 18:6 for 4-5 weeks. I was thinking about doing OMAD for 4 days a week and my standard 18:6 the other 3 days.

My plan is to only eat one meal of about 1200-1500 kcal with my meal being lunch at work from Monday through Thursdays, and then eating two regular meals during my 6 hour window Friday through Sunday. I am thinking it would be easier to do OMAD during the work week since I’m distracted most of the day, and then allowing myself two meals on the weekend.

My main reason for considering OMAD is to lose weight. I’m staying roughly at the same weight so far, which I’m not satisfied with. My goal is to get below 200 lbs this year and I’m currently 225 lbs (M 34).

Is anyone else doing something similar?

Answer

So after a few months of OMAD I hit a plateau and switched up my schedule to more adf. I do OMAD 4 days, one day 18/6, one day 36, one day no fasting. This has helped me get back to loosing one lb a week again. It’s important to know that you have to get good at fasting (about 28 days or so) to start building that fasting muscle. That’s when you can play around with your schedule and do what works for you. What I’ve realized about 13 weeks now is that I don’t worry about calories, just about eating until I’m full then I’m good. I want to do this for the long run so switching up your schedule is good and keeps your body guessing.
