Does cold-water immersion negate the heat-healing effect of the dry fast?

Hi,

I heard Dr Filonov talk about how the body produces a lot of heat in order to burn out all unwanted toxins in its cells. I certainly feel very hot like I have a fever at times, especially at night. I really like doing cold water immersion, but I worry that by doing so every day I’m rendering this heat-healing effect of the body ineffective. I’m on day 8 now and supposedly entering that critical 2 or 3 days where deep healing happens so I don’t want to mess anything up, though the cold water feels so good and cleansing and I just want to stay in it forever once I’m in (though of course I don’t stay in too ling until it would be dangerous). What do you think?

Answer

It should be good for you. It will push your body to continue fat burning. It’s stressful. That may increase cortisol, which may inhibit autophagy temporarily - but overall it should be a net gain.

Cole (Snake Diet Guy) was big on cold showers and cold swims for a while.

Wim Hof is also big on cold exposure
